„Dolok” is an exploration into the genesis of ceramics, sculpture and architecture. It is a study of the basic means of achieving expression, not perfection. I am interested in the simplicity of form, hand prints on the surface, the proportions and the the size of the pieces. Scale has the same significance as color or shape – it completely changes the relationship between material and man.

The gallery at the Center of Unique Ceramics at Multicultural Park „Old Mine” in Wałbrzych will present a collection of sculptures by Michał Puszczyński entitled „Dolok.” The artist’s latest project is a series of massive, monochrome ceramic sculptures related to the original forms of architecture. The simplified solids, the contrast and the scale of the works create an impression of a place of worship built of forms whose function has been forgotten and the purpose is unknown.

The exhibition opens on October 12th, 2017. Prior to that, October 11-12, 2017 at the Center of Unique Ceramics the artist will be building a sculpture for the public while demonstrating his ceramic techniques. The exhibition is open to the public through January 2018.
